Well I got 2 exhaust manifolds off ebay for $9 and $20 to ship them. No cracks or holes. I changed the one on the passenger side because there was a hole in it. Well it was more then a hole lol. I am surprised it didnt crack in half. Now the truck runs excellent and sounds even better. Just wanted to show yall the crack/hole.
How long did it take you to change the manifold? My 99 has a little tick that goes away when it gets warm, but I know I'm going to have to change it soon.

Thanks Toyman
I would check the manifold bolts first. There may be one or more broken causing the "ticking" you are hearing.
Well between the idiot that did the head gaskets putting the old bolts and nuts back in. At 10 of 5 I had to run up to a ford dealer to gets the studs which cost me $26 fot the studs and nuts. It took me about 3 1/2 hours because there is so much you have to fight. I left the tire on. Just have to that off the wheel well which is a pain in the ***.

If there was a broken bolt, would the noise go away after everything got warm? I'm thinking it's warped just enough to make noise until the head expands from the heat (just guessing).

Could also be a donut - replaced one on mine to stop the ticking - cheaper yet!!
