hello everyone, just woundering if anyone could help me out. I have a 92 f-350 4x4 with a 460ci. truck was working great, drove it around all morning with no issues, parked at a store, when i came out the truck started fine, but would go forward or rev. no leaks, no check engine light, fluid level good and fluid almost new, 4x4 didnt work, towed it home did some more trouble shooting and dropped the pan, nothing in the pan, clean. shifter lever ok and lever on trans seems to be moving. any ideas? please help.
I have a spare e4od and torque converter out of a 96 f-250 with a 460ci 4x4 , will this tranny bolt right up with out swapping any parts? or is the valve bodys different? please help i relly want to get my truck back on the road.
note: i have heard this is one of the most expensive and hardest trannys to rebuild, lots of updates etc. i have rebuilt a few older auto trannys before, never a e4od, has anyone ever done one that has some insight for me, or is it better to let the tranny shop do it?
Hey everyone, i posted this a couple a days ago but no one seems to have any ideas. i have asked the local tranny shops, deiselstop.com, oil burners.com, and the local ford dealer ship. everyone seems to be stummped. i cant afford the 3000 dollar rebuild cost of a e4od, but i have a e40d out of a 96 ford, does anyone know if this will work or not,
thanks pete
was trans fluid changed w/flush machine or by removing pan, if done by removing pan it is possible air pocket causing problem. another possibility is broken transfer case
good luck
