I recently bought a gooseneck and want to install a light plug in the bed. I currently have the seven pin plug at the bumper hitch. My question is can I tie into that plugs wiring and just run the one up into the bed. WIll they both be operational? Thanks
Yes, just make sure you tap the wires correctly and not like the el-cheapo dealer that did mine. Ideally, that involves tapping and soldering, and not just plastic crimps.
I think what he needs is the one hoppy makes e-bay item #140181691825 (check it out)their an easy install, 2 plugs & drill 1 hole takes about 20 minutes & looks real clean. it comes with all the parts you need. firedewd if you are going to use this on your 5er this is what you need too,the other thing is just a tee for a slide in camper with a trailer.

I already have another female recepticle and just want to tie into the existing wiring that goes to the bumper. I was just curious if I tied into the existing wiring if both of the recepticles would work properly. I now have both bumper pull and gooseneck trailers and most of them have trailer brakes. I want to make sure both of them would work. Thanks for all the help
sure, it will work fine, i would suggest soldering the connections & using splice tape or a quality black tape because of the location.also be sure to use the same gauge or better wire size.
Thanks Johnny567! That WILL work better for me. I will probably order one in the next couple of weeks.
.
your welcome,me & my dad both bought one from that guy w/no problems. they run over $60.00 elsewhere. also dont forget to paint around where you cut the hole to prevent rust.
