Glow controller-clicking sound?

I had new gp's in and controller failed, it had worked for a few weeks then one day the WTS lite would stay on only 1 second. so had to turn key on and off real fast to build heat in plugs to get it to start. replaced controller and all is fine....wife uses van so automatic gp's are necessary, stock system is best in this case.
