Trans. Question

Helping out a friend here, so don't castrate me for his stupidity. He has a 86 Bronco 4x4 with the 4.9L and auto tranny. The question is, will this tranny bolt up to a 351W, or would he have to source a small block 4x4 tranny to make the 351W swap work? Thanks in advance for any advice.

traildawg, I get a second opinion, but I'm almost certain that the 351W and the 300 both share the same exact small block pattern. It's the 351M that has the big block pattern.

Absolute tranny match.

The motor mounts will have to be changed, exhaust and a few other items but not a tough changeover.

Thanks guys. I know the motor mounts and all that little pesky stuff will need changed, just wasn't sure if the tranny would bolt up to the 351W.
