Anybody know how or if a rev limiter is possible to hook up? I already have an Auxilliary idle control. You may know I have been trying to increase my mileage and want to shift a 2000 RPM, only it's too difficult a habit to break. (shifting @ 2750 RPM )
I have run through a complete tank of fuel shifting at 2000 RPM and not exceeding 55 MPH and my mileage increased from 12.6 MPG to 15.5 MPG.
only way i can think of is getting a dp tuner set up that way..but i wouldnt do it in every tune..sometimes you do need to get her higher then 2000....or you could get a RPM gauge with a shift light that flashes at set rpm....you choose the RPM on the gauge and it will flash there every time...

This next tankful, you might try just limiting the top speed to 55 and, for this test, letting the engine rev to 2700 as before.
I'm thinking that your lower top speed is the greatest contributor to your increased mileage.
Not that keeping the rpms down isn't, but just not as big a factor as ramming that big work box through the atmosphere at 70 mph.
When I'm towing the trailer, if I set the cruise at 70, I'll get less than 8 mpg.
If I set it at 65, I'll get 9.5.
I have an aux idle control which is only a reostat and a couple of relays. That leads me to believe the throttle circuit is voltage sensitive. If I knew what voltage 2000RPM is then some sort of voltage limiting device with a parallel switch (for bypassing purposes) would work. Only I do not know what values to start with. Any Ideas?
Kwik, I think I will do that on the next tankful. I have just about depleted my second tankful.
