12 volt wiper motor

I wanted to get a 12 volt wiper motor, but thought the price was a little high.I looked on the internet, and found a united technologies motor that is used on school bus ,that looked right .So i went to a bus sales lot and although they did not have one they made some calls and found two one $135 and the other $81.As i was not sure if they would work {and the price somewhat high $145 from mid fifty and you know it will work}I passed. On the way home I stopped at the local school bus garage, they had a motor that was very close.I took the motor and arm as they have a tappered shaft {$67} to mount I had to remove 1/4 inch from each mount [where screws go into motor] take the pin out of the new arm and use pin from old arm weld in place.screw motor to bracket remount to dash wire three wires to old switch and look for rain.TOTAL $67 and 1/4 hour.and I have new 12 volt wipers. Motor from www.amequipment.com numbers on motor 230-J652 2005.2.21 made in korea sticker on back side 4304440 I think the united technologies wm 6-12 motor will also work but I have not seen one in person.PICTURES IN MY GALLERY

I bought a complete truck for 100.00 and swapped out the electric wiper motor, and still have lots left. If you have the room--look for a donor truck for some of your parts. Bill
