Well I have changed both sensors involved in my vehicle. It's a 97 Ranger 2wd short bed reg cab. I have changed the sensor in the trans, the sensor in the rear diff, and the last resort the dash cluster which was $400.00, dumb move on my part. Anyway the speedometer works when it damn well feels like it. It seems like when its really cold it works better, but once it warms up forget about it. Any suggestions would be greatley helpful, Thanks, Joe
So the saga ends and the speedometer works! I went to the local bone yard and retrived the whole dash cluster for $34.00. As it turns out I must have mishandled mine when I took it out to replace the heater plenum. I swapped the guts out of mine and put them in the cluster from the bone yard and presto, it hasn't missed a mile!! Yippee. While I was in the dash I figured I would change the bulb in my headlight switch. Easier said then done. The bulb is impossible to find. I went to napa, the suggested I try the dealer. I went to my trusty local ford dealer. They said sure we can order it, but they only come in packs of ten and they don't stock it so i would have to buy all ten. At $8.92 per bulb I said no thanks. I can get the whole switch for $70.00. What a joke, anyway till next time, Joe
Thanks for the thread! The Radioshack bulb works fine. The bulb itself is smaller but other than that it works, so I;m happy with it. Thanks again, Joe
