Intermitant Shudder/Rough Idle

Intermitant Shudder/Rough Idle
'04 6.0L Ex...recently and intermitantly, I will get a rough idle after warm up, the accelerator will become unresponsive and sometimes the truck will stall out comming to a stop or starting from a stop...it has progressively gotten worse over the past month
The EGR has been disconnected (last 12k miles) per the directions but throttle plate is still installed.
In the shop as we speak (EGR plugged back in to take it there) and guess what...."your problem was the EGR valve and we have replaced it and everything checks out"
Anybody want to chime in on any specific questions I should ask since I highly suspect something otherwise since all symptoms occured unplugged??

Ok, so went to pick it up and drove fine for about 5 minutes...then completely shut down...would crank but would not start...waited 10 minutes...started drove 2' and died....dealer picked it back up and of course drove it to the dealership fine.....
They want to keep it to road test since no codes are showing up and they currently cannot duplicate...my question...I have searched and seen a bunch of posts on various issues with sensors but wouldn't those throw codes???
