Well this is for help on a 1987 Chevy Caprice with a 305 V8
I just put a new fuel pump due to the old one leaking like a sive. After putting it on i stopped many place with no prob. Until i got 110 miles away from home. The car was stopped several time after its 110 mile travel to VA from Pa and still would start but on the last stop it was shut off for maybe 15mins tops and now wont start. Its getting gas to the carb i watched it jet into it when i pull the accel cable. Even though knowing it was getting gas i stll put some in the carb and still no luck. I thought it was flooded so i waited 30+ mins and still nothing. It wont even try to start, not the batt and its not the atarted but i was thinking its not getting spark.....Can any1 plz help
ignition moduel in the dist will keep it from getin spark
Exactly, and like some ignition modules used by Ford, the GM scenario is the same.
The module overheats, the vehicle stalls. When the module cools, the vehicle restarts. Sooner or later, the module will overheat, burn out...and now the vehicle won't restart.
I think the real issue here is you are driving a chevy.......
lol ok yea i do drive a chevy but to his, his own i guess... My F100 doesent run but my 1987 Chevy caprice does and i bought it for less. And thanks guys who said it was the ignition moduel, it was.
