Steering Wheel

Quick question. Will a steering wheel and horn from a 76-80 fit a 73 F-100?

Will it fit?

1976/77 will for sure (read on) but 1978/79 is a different style.

Will the 78/79's fit the earlier models?

Yes, but the horn pad is different...w/ w/o speed control is another factor.

Steering wheels: 1971/77 F100/350 without Speed Control is the same.

D4TZ-3600-A .. Steering Wheel ~ Black only ~ Reproduced by Dennis Carpenter.

The same wheel was also used on 1974/77 Bronco's and 1975/77 Econolines.

Hmmm, I thought the steering wheel hub sleeves were a different sizes to the steering shaft ?

No Dennis there is no difference. It went on like it belonged there. It was only a test for me but after I put the wheel on I decided to keep it there. I think I had to do something with the horn wire but the was minor, My wheel has speed control buttons on there but no speed control in this truck other than my foot.
P.S If anyone want's to call me on this install beware I have a digital camera.

Hillcrest, I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I'd like to see a pic anyway. I'm curious as to how that setup works.

My '79 truck has a the steering wheel pad from an 80s truck. Fits fine. The only difference is the center Ford logo is painted. It is a plastic piece. If you want one too, do not try to pop the logo out, take the whole pad. The steering wheels are the same so are the columns.
