How much back spacing can the truck handle? I dont want the tires to stick out much past the wheel well, only an inch or so.

The truck is not lifted. I previously had an 02 with 10 inch rims and 295/75/16's. I loved the looks and had no clearance problems. Now I have hte 05 and cant run the 16's, but want a similar set up, tires and rims. I dont recall what the BS was on my 02 however.

So why not just mount bigger tires on your stock rims???? Throw some 33's on there.

I dont want the balooning with a 295 or a 305. The 10 inch rim allows the tire to sit perfectly. Or 9 inch rim I guess.

Factory backspacing is 5.80". You would not want anything more than 6" or the tires are too far in.
If you do not want to stick out too far, a 9 or 10 inch wheel with 5.5 - 6.0" backspacing would be ideal.

Thats the info I needed, thanks guys.
Just to be sure, a 305 in a 17/18, will fit under a stock truck correct? No lift?

i run 10" rims with 6" backspace. i think you can run 6.5" or so but finding a 10" rim with that spec will be hard.
if you find something 9" wide with 6" backspace your in good shape.

Perfect, thanks. What wheels and tires are you running?
