I got Rhino, had in past 3 trucks. Love it. Crap doesn't slide as bad as Line-X, but I think Line-X is good stuff too. Spray in is worth every penny IMO.

With a drop-in, you need to park the truck at home so water runs out the back. otherwise it can travel up under the liner. Yeah, stuff slides, but many liners come with indents so you can put 2x boards across the bed to hold things. My factory liner has the indents near the tailgate so you can put a load of groceries in (for example) and still get them out easy. I use this feature a lot when carrying partial loads, like maybe a couple of boxes to UPS or picking up some fertilizer and seed.

Ok here is my question, when you install a drop in or a spray in your not only trying to protect the box, your trying protect the paint, now i know that plastic liners will rub and scuff the paint but with a spray in, you are letting some remove the paint from your bed, and for what? So now you dont feel bad about putting stuff back there that you thought would hurt you bed bc you have this great thick paint like stuff. Come on, thats crazy. Do i sell alot of bed liners? Yes. Do i talk about this all day? Yes. You can not beat the price and you can't beat the protection you get with a drop in, im sorry. i dont mean to start any battles here but i feel that one gives drop in's a chance, and for 199.95 shipped its a great deal, and our STK liners are skid resistant so all of your cargo wont slide around the bed. If you are still looking take a look at STK liners, bc no one has ever said anything about them.. PM me or call me with any questions. Sorry for the long post.

I agree. My drop in liner has the indentations for a board to put across the bed to hold items secure. I have used drop in liners for my past 6-8 trucks and never had any problems with rust or moisture retention. True, the slight movement of the liner may scuff up the paint, but that's all. In my neighbor's pickup, he had the liner in for seven years and pulled it out. No rust whatsoever. I'll still take the drop in liner any day, and mine is textured so items don't slide around in it.

Yup, I got the factory drop-in ( Duraliner ) in my '06. True, stuff will slide around a bit but packing stuff tight and using the floor cleats with ropes or bungies cures that. As for rust, my old '89 has had a drop in since new with only some minor surface rust on the bed here and there, still rock solid. Cheaper and will take more abuse and easy to remove... I'll stick with the drop ins.

My 07' Lariat has the indentions to put a board across, I'll get a sprayin over a dropin only if they come in the same color as truck bed, which is white sand. I have seen some dropins that fit snug to sides and the tie-offs screw back on thru liner, it won't be moving around much.

Personally I have had both and will never buy a drop in again. Stuff slides all over (I know about the indentions for a cross bar), they scuff up, can crack, and overall look cheap to me. And the one I had was textured so stuff wasnt supposed to slide all over but it did. The LineX I have now is great. It doesnt scuff, stuff stays in place much better than the drop in, and gives the bed a more "solid" feel to it. And when they prep for the sprayin liners, granted they may take off a layer of protection to the paint to make the coating adhere but they put much better protection on it and you dont have to worry about it after that. Not sure if you watched the video I posted a link to earlier but its pretty interesting. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference and what fits your budget.

I am thinking of a drop in to protect my line-x and then a rubber mat on top lol

Here is a thought -get a drop in but put a very thin piece of that rubber grip material under it so it doesn't slide and scuff your bed. -You know that stuff the wife uses under the rug on the hardwood floor so you don't break your @ss bone.

Drop-in do do ther job but what I disliked about them other than the obvious sliding problem is they will hold water If you park in a flat driveway and If you haul something loose like mulch or sand itgets inside the cut-outs for the tie downs and there is no way to get it out other than remove the liner. Granted for a $300-$400 savings this may not be an issue with some.

By the way, why is the sprayin liner for the 5 1/2' bed more than a 6'? That's what I was quoted anyway.

i have a bed rug and a rubber bed mat. the bed rug is actually made out of a type of plastic, and just washes off with a hose. also if you're climbing around back there it's a lot easier on your knees. i use the rubber bed mat that came with the truck (07 harley) which keeps things from sliding too much. i installed the bed rug myself (took about an hour), and it also covers the tailgate. with just the rug, it's easier to slide things into the bed (the rubber mat causes things to catch). plus the bed rug is removable if you sell the truck (they sell installation kits by themselves so if you buy the same type of truck, you can reuse the bed rug.

Another vote for DualLiner. Stuff does not slide, and the paint doesn't get scuffed. And no dents from stuff getting dropped into the bed.
