80 400M carb question

Is there a way to convert the auto choke to manual choke on the 2 barrel carb. How about a cheap fix for the choke thermo spring?
I need cheap help fast!

Yes, go to the store and buy a manual choke conversion kit. Follow the instructions, and it works pretty good.

I called CarQuest and they told me no kit for the 2150carb. Where do I get one?

Universal Manual Choke Kit. All the parts stores I know carry, or can get it.

MAKE SURE that you get the on for a truck and not a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cable in the car kit is to short

Thanks Ridgerider. I picked one up at NAPA. It has a 5 foot cable. Sounds long enough. what do you think? Also should I take the carb off the engine and do this job on the bench or just work under the hood??

I would do it under the hood. Also, I have found through installing several of these, that if you snake it down through a hole around the steering column, then up and over to the passenger side of the carb, that it doesn't work very well. It works, and you can try it, but all those bends doesn't let it work very smooth. The last couple of did, I carefully searched and found a spot as straight as possible behind the carb, and drilled a hole through the firewall. I then mounted the **** over top the tranny hump under the dash, pointing at a 45 degree angle toward the driver. This made the cable short(I had to cut it), and with very few bends. It works much better this way.
