Wink Just left the dealership

I just got home from ordering my new Harley Davidson headlights. Got them brand new for less than 200 each and 2 new harnesses. With tax and everything was about 540. Now when I drive hopefully I will be able to see again.

I bought harley headlights off ebay for $325, didn't know until they came in that they weren't OEM. But, i can't tell a difference and neither can you.

Judging by his sig, his is a 2000, and the 99-01 headlights just plain suck IMO. They all get nasty on the outside, and need wetsanding.

Yes those are the ones I currently have until around 1030 or so. Even with the silverstar lamps they are not as bright as my Saturn, or the wifes Mustang. They are somewhat clouded up and such. We had a truck at work with the Jewel ( clear ) headlights and it was like, look I can see now. It also was a 2003. I priced the Jewel style and figured for a tad bit more on the credit card I could have what I really want. I will take some pics of the new ones installed but I have pulled the old ones out aout 3 weeks ago.

Yea, if I didnt buy a house a few months ago, and had the spare cash, I would love to have a set of the HD headlights for the 05+ trucks. I think they look awesome. Congrats buddy!

Kris - Are these what you are talking about? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._promot_widget
I'd really like to get rid of my old foggy yellows, but I'm not sure about the wiring part. I see where some guys are buying harnesses with their upgrades, like totin', and I've also read you can splice into you existing harness. What gives?

The harness I purchased is just that one that you cut off the 9007 end and splice on the 9008 end. The wiring part shouldnt scare you its just splicing the wires, no big deal. Fixin to start on mine in a few minutes. The part that is scaring me is cutting the headlight bucket.

Thanks totin'. The wiring part I'm good with. I wasn't sure if it was simply changing out to the sockets or actually performing some kind of HID upgrade.

I'm not too worried about cutting the buckets either. If I screw up, I can fab something up to make it work. Though, like you, I'd rather not screw up to begin with.
