3.8 auto trans swap

do the 91 3.8 and the 93 3.8 have the same auto trans behind them or were
there many offered thanks in advance.

If we are talking F150s, then the '91 would have an AOD and the '93 would have an AODE.

They are very similar transmissions, but the AODE is electronically controlled.

Then it could have almost anything put in it when someone put the 3.8L engine in the Explorer. Ford never put the 3.8L in the Explorer.

I think i will go look myself to get the right info sorry what engine auto trans should I
expect to find and should a91 and 93 interchange

Both of them originally had a 4.0L engine and A4LD transmission, if they are automatics. If they are both original they are identical and will interchange.
