Tailgate Swap ??
I did a search and found alot of info but still have a question. I have a 2001 F350 Crew Cab Dually Short Bed. The dealer told me the only tailgates that will fit my truck are F250,F350, 99-04. I want one of the new 08's, is there anyone with first hand experience with this swap.

The 08 tailgate will work. I have one for my 00 but haven't put it on yet but have everything for it. The only thing you have to change is what they call the apple nut which to a normal person is the parts that the tailgate pivot on.The only reason is for the 08 gates has the torsion bar in it to help with lifting the gate to close. Hope this helps.
