I have a '99 Expy 4x4 w/4.6. Once the running gear is warm, in first gear only, it feels like something is skipping. It does not feel like the trans is slipping into gear, it feels more like something is binding then letting loose. There is no hard knocking noise associated with it.
I jacked it up and spun the rear wheels, it feels normal......I guess the next step will be pulling the rear diff cover and work my way forward from there.
I've done a couple of searches, but the thread I found with a similar problem mentioned greasing the slip joint on the drive shaft. The Expy does not have that.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
