Good Ford Taurus/Sable Forum
I guess this place has me spoiled.
Does anyone know of a good forum for getting help on diagnosis of computer codes for an OBD-1 1993 Sable?

I checked out those sites.
None of them seem to have anything for vehicles older than 1996.

Post the codes that you're getting. I would think that diagnosing the engine would be very similar to diagnosing these engines...

It's a 3.8 liter V6
Over the last month or so it has developed a worsening miss, at both idle and while under load.
It's mom's so I don't drive it very much.
I put a full can of Seafoam to about a quarter tank of gas when it first started.
A couple days ago it started throwing CEL and codes after running for 45 minutes or so.
I checked it and the miss seems almost like it's favoring a particular cylinder.
The codes are 176 and 189 which seems to indicate a lean condition on the front bank.
I bought a fuel pressure tester today, but's too cold and rainy to work on it.
I'm thinking it's a bad injector, bad regulator.
It only has about 55k miles on it.
I havn't pulled plugs yet either.

the rear plugs in those are a bear to take out.
they put platinums in from the factory and i bet one on those three, if not all six are bad.
use motorcraft plats when you replace them and use anti-sieze on the threads.

LOL..........I havn't looked at the rear plugs yet, but the fronts don't look especially easy. Looks like a plastic shield/bracket attached to the radiator has to be removed, and then they are at an odd angle with not too much clearance to the fan.

if you think they are hard to get to, wait until you do the rears.
look at the site i posted and do a search on 3.8 plug tips.
on my 95 3.0 sable, i inherited it, the fronts took 15 minutes and the backs another hour or so.
find a warm garage.
