Im using a 79 460 with 351/400 bellhousing,purchased new clutch and flywheel.flywheel has 184 teeth,what is the right starter to use with this combination so that I dont destroy the flywheel ring gear? Bellhousing is 79 also,T-18,and 4-wheel drive

I have heard of people using more than one spacer plate between block and bell housing,is that to get a certain starter to ring gear depth?

the 351M starter will work just fine, so will a 460 starter.
