Looks like we have about 4 weeks to finish the motor, rebuild the transmission, and put it all back in. Need a finish a few small things like the tail light wiring and the seat but we should have plenty of time to make a few drives around town first. Hoping to get a videocamera to get some video of the first day.

Not sure if we are going to make after it took 5 weeks to get the motor together.

Today we got the intake bolted on after some troubles. Also had a few guys come over and tear into the tranny. We have the clutches and band soaking in ATF over night so we can get it buttoned up tomorrow.

Are you going to make it to the first T&T day? Any updates on the Dodge?

I should be going out to the first T&T with the dodge. Just have to do some very small things now, to basically make it pass tech, driveshaft loop, battery holddown, buy better battery, install new ignition switch, etc...

Have alot of small stuff to do to it, bbut will probally take it down to the new shop this week to work on it when we are slow (stepdad and i rented a shop a few towns over) Im just going to go over all of my welds again, and nut and bolt it to make sure everything is ok to go.

But i did do a cam job on another guys 400, and have been thinking about really tearing into my truck engine, new bearings, higher CR pistons to bump it up form 7.9:1 to 9.4:1 or so and change a cam and throw in all new gaskets and do some headwork to it.. to you know.. make it tow the dodge better lol (making a pass in the 13's would be nice too)

Finally got the remainder of the engine together.

Also finished the motor mounts, finished the transmission rebuild and drilled some holes int the fire wall to help heat and air escape out the cowl.

We should be able to get the motor and trans back in on saturday and hear it run for the first time in 6 months.

Good work.. almost that time when it pays off and since you are running a ford you wont have to worry about a sub par oil pickup tube design hahahaha...

Let us know when you do get it fired.

I hear ya on reducing lbs. Am doing that myself in a Mustang. But since he is still running an all steel complete bed and full inner fenders just kinda figure it be more for ventilation. Either way it looks cool and accomplishes both

No need to worry about weight that much with the truck weighing 3820 pounds with no driver and being shaped like a brick. Just bought a pair of Americans to make a dedicated race car anyway.
