arm rest
does any body know if you can add the flip down arm rest to an 40/20/40 set up. i know if you could you would not be able to keep the center section. at least the top part but i would like to build my own center.

You may want to re-word your question as I find it confusing, and I think others will too.
Do you currently have a 40/20/40 split bench and you want to get rid of the center seat and make your own console?
Or do you currently have the captains chairs with a console and the small arm rests built into the seat, and you are interested in using the big fold down armrest for the center seat, and build your own console?

Well what I'm meaning to say is. I have the 40/20/40. But I would rather have the buckets. What I was wondering is if you could add the little arm rest to the seats I already have. Then I would take out the factory jump seat and make my own console.

Ok now I understand. That you may want to look into is getting the center console from an 08 truck. The top is much taller, and is padded for use as an armrest. There have been a couple guys around here that have done it already and it seems to work pretty well.
