New Guy mjz1
A do it your self type of guy,
I finally bought a real truck to pull our 27' travel trailer, a 2000 F350SD crew cab w/Triton v10.
Very Powerful Truck, Drove to Anna Maria Island Florida in June 2007, (not towing the camper) we averaged 18 to 20 MPG on 89 octane and 15 to 16 on 87 octane, coming home we tried 93 octane and again averaged 18 to 20 MPG, I use 89 on a consistent basis now since 93 showed no improvement in mpg, still not bad for a 7000 LB vehicle.
Pulling our 2004 TT at 7900 Lbs dry wt. we get from 9 to 11 MPG depending on the hills.(15,000 lbs rolling down the road and almost 50' long) I am very impressed by the performance of this truck.
