These are pretty minor issues so I'd rather not clog up the forum with two threads:
1) Sometimes when I am in cruise control on the freeway, and I turn on my right hand turn signal, the cruise control will turn off on the first light flash... Ehhh, what?!
2) If I continue to hold the window switch down after the window has been completely rolled up or down, my battery gauge plummets and I can hear my fuel pump change it's whining tone... Let off the switch, the gauge jumps back up and the fuel pump whine returns to normal. I was never concerned about the battery gauge falling but now that I heard my fuel pump changes in tone, I'm worried that my fuel pump might not be getting all the power it needs to provide a sufficent amount of fuel to engine... Comments?
I would say Number 1) is normal as you are lock loading the window motor (not a good thing to do) but you might want to clean the connections at the starter relay on the fender.
Number 2) You have a poor G100 ground at radiator support by the washer tank OR your tail bulbs are not making a good ground to their sockets.
I din't know if it makes any difference Chris, but did you have the recall done to it?The voltmeter jumping is the same thing my truck does when I do that....so it seems normal to me....Luck buddy
Same thing happens to me when I put my wipers on high (when they want to work - gotta fix that) it shifts the voltmeter. Which makes sense because it's drawing current..
ya number one sounds like a bad ground, its grounding out back thru the brake switch and killing the cruise possibly, #2 is normal, dont hold it, if you hold it long enough there is a resetting circuit breaker that will trip till it cools.
Hmmm... Okay well, I'm pretty sure the high currect draw from the window motor is normal, but I just want to make sure I shouldn't be concerned with the fact that it's affecting my fuel pump... I don't want to deprive my engine of fuel.
As for the cruise control, I'll check for the ground that Bill mentioned and if that doesn't work I'll change out the blinker bulbs. Thanks guys.
the have the same window "problem" in my truck too, when i keep the button down after it is up or down it pulls voltage from the system which inturn moves the gauge severely. thats nothing to worry about. i don't know about the cruise control because mine doesn't work at all
yeah i did a little bit or wheelin this afternoon and thought it would be a good time to take some "updated" pics of the her. ive gotta get that wheel painted black though like the rest of them..hmm might do that tomorrow
