2008 On Order

I recently ordered a 2008 F150 Lariat to replace my 2005 XLT F150 which has 40,000. I purchased the 2005 new and to date I've had 2 problems that I thought were premature for my mileage. First at 6,000 I had to replace the passenger side rear axel seal. Successful repair to date. At 30 months I had to replace the battery. Both repairs were covered by warranty. 2008 should be here in about 4 weeks. It will be my sixth new F150 and overall I think they are great trucks. I hope the 2008 will be a quieter ride than the 2005.

My new truck got built on Monday, as close as I am to the plant I could save them the trouble of delivering it
In case you haven't heard all 3 valve engines built as of 10/09/07 got new heads and spark plugs.

HMMM I'll be ordering an 08 soon. Is there any truth to this

"In case you haven't heard all 3 valve engines built as of 10/09/07 got new heads and spark plugs"

If that's true it would take a load off of my mind.

OH Boy: That is good news, so do u think the 5.4 3v in the early 09's will have the same heads and plugs so there should not be any problems getting them out??? Did u get any info on what they actually did to the heads and plugs to remedy the problem.??

Conventional as in a normal spark plug with the threads at the bottom, 12 mm threads, adjustable gap. And time to buy another socket, these take a 14 mm socket.

I'm sure the 09's will be the same as this was a running change to all 3v engines.

If u; have a 04-07 until this change u may have problems getting the plugs out due to carbon build up there are many threads on here about the issue u can look up.

Congrats but, just a question..?
Why not wait and purchase the new fresh F-150 redesign 09?
Going from a 05 to an 08 you pretty much bought the same Truck over again.

Fair question -- The warranty just expired on the 05 and I hate to spend money on a vehicle but will spend to buy a new one. I don't mind that I'm buying almost the same truck. Now I get 3 years warranty again plus I'll be driving a nice new clean truck. And I'm moving from XLT to Lariat. I'll only keep the '08 for 2 years and then trade for a '10. It just me. Heck I might even trade next year for the '09.
