I have a 2000 F150 with the 4.6. I had a misfire on the #4 cyl and pulled the cop off. It looked like everything came out ok boot...etc. The problem I am having is I can't get my plug wrench down over the top of the plug. I pulled another plug to check size and it took a 5/8....got the otherplugs out with no problems.
It feels like maybe someone left their old rubber insert over the plug or something else is jamming it. I tried to get pliers etc down in the hole and can't pull anything out (no room). You can push on the plug wrench all you want and it simply spins. Help I am out of ideas!
I would verify that it is what you think it is and if you have a skinny vacuum attachment ,suck it out using a shop vac. A grabber (long skinny flexiable tool that you can extend the fingers on the end to pick stuff up) might work if the fingers are strong enough. With a little bit of time you can get it out.
