One question, has anyone found a source of factory style hose clamps for the intake tube? The ones with the slits cut in them that index with the rubber tabs on the intake tube? Right now I have used some 1/8" thick SS cable ties. Works fine but i'd like to have the correct part.
Also, the sensor that plugs in to the outer stock housing, is that AIT? Need it? Mine is not connected and the truck runs fine, no CEL. I did fit it to the 6637 but need to extend the wiring to connect it. I also put the factory filter gauge in the end of the 6637.
Seat of the pants testing shows good results! I like it! Can definately hear the turbo more.
I noticed one gain I liked, before the 6637 my truck would be under 4 Lbs. of boost or so at 65MPH. Now I am under no boost at 65MPH. That tells me the engine is running more efficiently.
Now that I'm getting air in, I need to work on helping it exhale better. ^_^
My $0.02
Cord
yoou can get any size hose clamps from any auto parts place. i'm not sure what you are looking for exactly? and the iat isnt realy needed, its used for the ebp valve operation. nothing to do with engine performance
I had to dissconect My EPV as soon as I did the 6637 bc it seemed that that sense was getting colder readings and closing the EPV all the time. not really a big deal since I will be wireing it into a brake soon.J
it goes off of iat and eot signals, its pretty comon once the weather gets good and cold to have it activate at idle but once you are over 1\8 throttle it should kick off on its own
I connected my 6637 to a NAPA exhaust elbow and used a "regular" hose clamp. Couldn't find a constant torque clamp and didn't want to wait to order one.
The 6637 fits snug on the exhaust elbow. I'm not even sure I need a clamp to hold it on. The filter top rests against the fender, so it doesn't move around at all. I just shoved the IAT sensor into an opening in the fender. I don't have it installed on the filter and I tossed the ALL the stock air box stuff, including the filter gauge.
