what tire size??

Hey guys this is a question for my friend. He has an 01 Ford F250 diesel and is putting the 5.5 inch fabtech lift on it. The guy at the store recommended he run 35 inch pro comp mud terrain tires with it. Will these tires be too small and look funny with this lift? Does anyone have this setup? please post pics if you do. And would any bigger tires rub on the 5.5 inch lift? Thanks for the help guys

If it was my truck, I would run 37's on it, just my opinion. I have a 4'' lift with 36's, but thats on my 97 F350. Personally I think 35's would look a little small

Do you think the 37's would rub though?

Can't you run 35's with a leveling kit? I have 33's with no lift on my F350 srw. I know that I can run 34's and maybe 35's without a lift. I plan on buying 325/70/16 Nitto terra grapplers. That equals out to about 34.8x12.5x16. If I have a rubbing problem I will install the DR mini spring packs.

My dad has a 1999 F250, he's running 33's stock, no leveling kit nothing, no rubbing what so ever. I know with the leveling kit 35's clear. I wouldn't hesitate to put 37's on it. If its gonna rub, it would probably rub on the bumper, you can always trim that or shim it out.

the tire he is looking at is a 37 inch pro comp xterrain that is 37x13.50xr17. Would that wide of a tire have any issues?

Not sure if they'll rub, can't give you a confident answer. My dads treads are 12.5'' (99 F250, stock) wide, no rubbing on his.

02 SD with a 6" BDS lift kit and 36" Samper SSR's on a 9.75" wheel rub the fender off road during suspension cycles. Actually rubs the fender bad enough to bend it, and rip up the plastic inner fender.
Much is going to depend on wheel offset and how the truck is used. If it will be used off-road, and has the ability to flex, it will eat some fenders.

do what the jeepers do, either use a set of bushwhacker cutout fender flares or use bigger bumpstops to stop the tire from hitting the fender off road. i have a 01 f250 extended cab with a lil under powered 5.4, i plan on a 4 inch lift with the cutout flare which should open the wheel well 2 inches all around and about 4 in front. i plan on running a set of 37's. and maybe not still fill in the damn wheel well,i would love a set of 39.5 iroks though.

Ive got 315s on my 04 with no lift at all and only rubs when backing up while turning left. The problem with the SDs is the front fender arch is narrow front to back. Id hate to do it but some cut out flares and trimming would do wonders. 5.5 lift should have no trouble with 37x13.50s.

Biggray has 38" swampers on a 8" lift Im pretty sure and he wheels his.
