Going down in lift?

Currently truck has a 5.5 fabtec with 35 inch tires. I want to make it 2-3 inches smaller. How can I go about doing this??

I have 4 kids in car seats to load in and out, one being a newborn. Not sure wether to keep it how it is, get different running boards...

If you like everything about your lift now, don't change it. I went with the amp research steps and that made a huge difference. I also have the same size lift you have now.

Are you planning on throwing smaller tires on there too? Depending on the wheels you might have to.

Many people have had great luck, including myself, with doing the V/B or X/C spring swaps. Check out the sticky Excursion Tech Folder thread at the top for more information about it.

No matter how you decide to go, expect to basically remove everything from your current suspension and replace it.

Personally I'd throw some Amp steps like LL suggested and keep it how it is.

The truck isnt horrible I guess height wise, it was purchased with this lift and tires. It is now going to be my daily driver with 4 kids all in carseats though and Im only 5'3. Idk if its worth going down in lift (who knows how much that will even cost) and to 33 inch tires. Thinking of ways to make things easier for me. How much did the AMP steps run you? How many inches do those come out and drop down?

Our trucks look pretty similar. Do you have pics I can see of yours with the steps by chance?

You can check his (Living Large) gallery, he has several pics of his setup.

While I have my own little ones, I'm 6'4 so it isn't that big of a deal for me.

Thank you so much for the pictures, very helpful to see! Mine looks exactly like yours only not a diesel are your tires 35s as well? I think these steps will really make a huge difference for me. Right now it's just a running board pretty much flesh with the bottom and being 9 months pregnant, it's some climb for me. So these and the new mirrors might just make me happier having to use it for the next year or so.

Yes, those are 35's... The steps make a huge difference, my 5'4" 90 year old mom can still get in the Ex with these, there was zero chance with OEM steps.

Where are you located? I'll help you remove that lift and go back to stock, hell I'll even give you my OEM goodies for your practically worthless lift
