Hello everyone!!
I'm hoping to get a little a feedback on a noise that is happening under my dash.
It's only when I'm driving and begins around 60kph and does stop after hitting relativly high speeds eg: 100kph.
It sounds like a crunching or scraping sound and totally drives me nuts.
I'm thinking the Speed-o-meter cable but would like feedback b4 I bring it in.
There is no speedo cable on a 94 it is all electronic..... check the #8 injector/accelerator cable if they are touching then the pulse from the injector is passed through the cable..... there should be a foam cover on the cable at the #8 injector to eliminate this.
PS do not be affraid to tell us where you are in Canada a lot of us are fine northern folks...
lolol I'm in the Prince George,BC area
I'll look into what you might think it is in the morning.
I only thought speedo-cable because I was thinking of moving parts.
You could be right as the sound is almost like a quick snapping or clicking.
More so than a grinding.
It does sound like it in the immediate area of the dash directly behind the speedometer and tach.
I had the same problem from a 94 and now my 96 is doing the same sound. sounds like high speed clicking. Starts around 60 mph and gets faster as my speed increases. I put the truck on jack stands and ran up the speed, but no noise, so think that it may have something to do with wind. I have checked and looked everyting. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check the #8 injector line and see if the accellerator cable is touching it..... there should be a foam cover on it like a house water pipe cover (foam).
