I have a 2000 X with the factory installed tow package. The auxiliary power does not seem to work. I have a enclosed car trailer, that has inside 12VDC lighting. When plugged into the truck they are supposed to work, they do not. I do not seem to be getting voltage on that pin on the 7 pin connector. I checked the fuses under the dash, and all are good. I know there are more, but I do not have a owner's manual. All exterior trailer lights work fine, brake, turn, running etc...
The key must be in the on position to energize this 12 v feed. The fuse for it is under the hood, left side near master cylinder, oblong box. My manual is not available or I could tell you the number.
You need to check the underhood box by the master cylinder that partsetal was talking about. You need to make sure you have a 30 amp maxi fuse in position 115.
Also, I think there may be another small relay box next to the big one that holds 4 relays. Two are for the ESOF and two are for the trailer brakes and trailer tow charge. They aren't in the owner's guide for the Excursion, but I know they were there on my 99 F250. You may want to check and see if they are there and working.
