About 16 hours into the restore of my '77 F150, 2wd, 302
Did this truck come with a catalytic converter? It does not have one currently and being 30 years old in Maryland I do not believe it has to. Could someone clarify both for me?
Also, what would you suggest as I rebuild the exhaust system? What sounds/performs best for this setup?
the only trucks of the body style i have ever seen with cats were both 79's but i suppose if it was a california truck it might have been sooner than 79 that they started useing them.
being a truck from georgia (49 state) it probably didnt have a cat. as far as exhaust, my local muffler shop charges $675 for dual flowmasters from the manifold back. id check local muffler shops.
it should have one my grandpa has the same truck and it has one on it. he bought the truck brand new. I was told the 2wd trucks had it and the 4wd didnt. my 78 4wd didnt have one on it from the factory.
Well I was always under the impression that in 77 they started using cats but depended on the state and then brought them into standard in late 78. I no in PA we do not need them because they weren't factory till late 78 early 79. But a lot of cars had them sooner.
