Anyone know a source for 1/16" tempered hardboard to make new pieces for the headliner on a 66? 1/8" is fairly easy to find, but any thinner seems impossible. Thanks, Brett
Brett, Why do you need thinner? You have to wet and mold the material to get it to fit. You may have to tie it up on a paint can to dry to get it to fit right.
THE MATERIAL IN MY 66 IS 1/16. dO YOU REALLY THINK THICKER WILL WORK? I GUESS IF YOU HAVE TO WET AND MOLD IT, THICKER WOULD WORK JUST AS WELL! I'M GOING TO GET RIGHT ON IT! THANKS, BRETT
Brett, I don't see why the thicker wouldn't work. I have given some thought to using some staves in the top for more room to add insulation. The cab corners are going to be a pain either way and you may have to make multiable attempts before you get them right. I'm not vertically challenged so the room up there is not an issue for me.
I want to cover mine with a fabric headliner to reduce noise. I have seen some really nice ones installed at car & truck shows.
