My 460 got raped!!!

Ok so i have a 1996 460 v8 and yesterday i raced a 1997 lexus 4.0 v8... and it beat me by a car.... Heres the whole story here....

Today i got RAPED!!!!!

Ok so here it goes i'm by the holiday inn express motel in munising and i get passed by this 1996 lexus ls400 (v8) 4.0 liter.Ok first of all there was this hott girl in the passanger seat (sorry katy your hotter though) and her boyfriend was driving..They were seriously cooking it..So i caught up to them by the high school and than and than and than and than and than they get in the lane behind me to go the way up the wetmore hill...My heart was pounding 100000000 miles a minute and i was pumped (since most likely they were goign up the wetmore hill which was a two lane road) so i put the truck in under drive so i won't have a gear slippage problem...Ok so than we get into the two lanes an i start goign slow.. Oh buy the way zach and dave were in the truck with me.So they get in the lane next me and i start going a lil bit faster so they will be able to be next to me and then i play with them...And all of a sudden we both go ahhhhhhhhhh it was like neck to neck for a minute and than he starts pulling away and he was ahead of me by like a car... So by this time were goign like 85 mph...Than he slows down and i pass him like going like 90..So technically i won since i went fast and passed him but if was a full out race I GOT RAPED!!!!!!!!! So i gave him the 4 way flashers which is the international way to say you won the race....OMG i'm so sad that my truck got beat....I have never got beat.....

I only have headers and a true duel exhaust what other kind of performance parts can i get for my truck

Exhaust ports on those 460 iron heads are hideous. Pop them off and pawn off some machine work for a port job on those heads. Or do them yourself if you have some experience.

You won't recognize that big block afterwards.

Shoot!
I once got beat (but only by a couple of bike lengths) by a Hardley Ableson!
I was in my 72 F100 with a 360!

However, I was towing over 20,000 lbs on a 5th wheel trailer.

So, how much were you hauling?

Man you totally cant feel bad compare the power to weight ratio a lexus car weighs have as much with a 4.0l V8 you got a 460 in a 3/4 ton or 1 ton which is heavy

Don't feel bad, its a lexus, now if it was a camry or something like that, then you can feel bad.

Also, I once lost a race to a '90 mitsubishi mighty max with a 2.4 I4 in it, it was a race to be the first on to 90 mph (my rule cuz of the 4.10/T18). I was winning 0-20, then I lost from there.

I wasn't hauling anything besides a couple of my friends...But it was up a super big hill that was like 5 mile long and very steep...I think that maybe if we were on flat ground i would of had a better chance...

that same thing happened to me in my 460 but i was hauling 40,000 lbs and the car was a v10 dodge viper! i passed him once we hit 200mph though...face it your truck was not designed for racing. although it is fun to play with em!!! i personally like blowing the doors off the 5.4l superdutys!! its so funny to see them downshift and not go any faster!! lol... gets me everytime!!

I agree with the above post, lol. You're 460 pickup truck is not made for racing, it's much too heavy. That engine is meant to put out loads of torque for pulling power, don't get depressed about it not beating a V8 Lexus! My mom has a 2000 GS300 (3.0L V6) and that car is MUCH faster than my 5.8L. If you want to go fast, buy a sedan

Uh, your missing the point of your truck. It's not about how fast you got there, but rather who you rolled over to do it, LOL. You think you have it tough, you should try it with my 302 with 3.55's in a SC with full size bed. A pizza guy on a moped could beat me. But he gets out of my way when I get there.

I agree with everyone else......consider the weight of the truck and the fact that you have multiple gear rations between your crankshaft and your rear end..That car only has a transmission with direct drive going to the front wheels...He's got the unfair advantage on pretty much every aspect except for engine displacement......when you can blow the doors off of something that costs 4 times as much as your truck and 1/3 of the weight...you need to be happy win or lose......Later

Have him pull a trailer that gets his GVW the same as yours and his Lexus would be dead meat up against you!

Light weight cars are designed to use HP
(AKA faster but weaker power like Lance Armstrong)
and trucks are desighned to use torque
(AKA slower but stronger power like Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Lance could out run Arnold, but in an arm wrestling, Arnold comes out on top.

200 mph in an F series truck with a 460 hauling 40,000 lbs???????

Gotta get the calculator for this one!
Lets see, with stockish 33" tall tires and 3:55 gears

(MPH X Gear ratio X 336) divided by tire dia = engine RPM

(200 X 3:55 X 336) divided by 33" tires is 7300 rpms

And if it had a Zf 5 speed with a OD ratio of .76
(200 X 2:70 X 336) divided by 33" tires is 5498 rpms

And if it had an E4OD with a OD ratio of .712
(200 X 2:52 X 336) divided by 33" tires is 5131 rpms

Now, the daily driver trucks tires would not survive anything dreaming of those speeds and the 460 is in risky teritory shooting above 5000, but the HP needed to push an F series shaped "BRICK" by it self into the 200 mph range would be in the thousands of hp, not to mention pulling a trailer that had 40,000 lbs that had to be specialy designed to survive those speeds????

No, wait, he was probably using premium fuel, yeah, thats it!
