Possible Electrical Problem

Yesterday while driving, every once in awhile I noticed a clicking noise in the dash area. It would click a couple times and stop. Then do it again maybe 5 minutes later.. kinda random or not do it at all.

This same problem happened on my last F250 V10 but when I heard the clicking noise (same exact clicking noise) my PCM would actually shut down and reset.. thus shutting the engine off randomly while driving. I pin pointed the problem to be a bad superchip installed into the PCM in my last truck (fixed that problem).

I'm just wondering what mine could be. Kinda hard to explain but it definely sounds like something coming and then turning off real quick.. like a short some where. Although, my current truck has not shut off yet.. I have a couple long trips coming up this weekend so I dont want to end up being stranded if theres a problem.

Also, my multifunction switch doesn't all work.. atleast thats what I think is wrong. I lost my low beams about 2 months ago and just lost my daytime running lights the other day. Now, I only have my fog lights and high beams. I was wondering maybe its the switch thats coming on and off but its not coming from that area of the switch.

Also, this morning, my truck just randomly started up?? I have a remote start on it but did not hit the start button.... wasn't even around the keys. I'm guessing this maybe my problem. Any ideas?

On my early 99 there is a General Electronic Module, GEM, but it has a different name on the later trucks. I've read of all sorts of weird things happing when that unit goes bad. Doors lock and unlock, various lights go on and off on their own, etc.. That unit is up under the dash, and sometimes heat from the sun through the windshield or rain intrusion in that area has been blamed.

Kinda sounds like what I am experiencing. Hmm, if somebody else has some more info on what its called on my 02 F250, I'd be interested in looking into this potential problem. This morning was the first time my truck randomly started like it did and just last friday is when I lost my daytime running lights. Then the clicking noise started yesterday every once in awhile.

I'll keep monitoring the problem. I just dont want my truck randomly starting like it did this morning, especially if I'm not home.
