ok, i have a few questions in regards to preformance for my truck. would changing the o2 sensor give me any better effieincy?(bad spelling).would it be worth buying new fuel injectors? when i go to change out spark plugs what would be the best plug and wires to use? oil wise i plan to use royal purple 10w-40 along with a fleetguard filter. with the price of gas i want to try and squeze the most fuel mileage out of the thing as i can. im pretty knowledgeable about all this but i want some advice on whats best.
Only if those parts are bad are you going to gain anything. Did it start running poorly or differently recently?MPG will increase quite a bit if you drive slower and don't use the brakes. This will earn you scorn and ridicule as you will be driving like "..a little old man..." or some other derision. But that is really the only way to note a marked improvment in MPG.
My results: 2004 Audi A4. 11 miles to work. 80 to 100 mph, plus all the other stop and go: 22.5 mpg.
It wont hurt to start replacing parts (assuming you know what you are doing), but it may or may not help fuel economy depending on their current condition.
5w30 oil would be less work for the oil pump thus better MPGs theoretically.
thanks for your help. im probably just going to change out plugs and wires.it doesnt run bad but every day when i start it it will fire up,run for a few seconds stall then i would start it back up then it would run fine.
