The real as opposed to reel Bat Masterson was a buffalo hunter, lawman, bartender, sporting man (gambler), and in his later years...a sports writer. He died at his desk at the NY newspaper he was writing for in 1921.

Used to open with him shooting a guy through a glass of beer that the bartender was sliding over.
"Johnny Yuma was a rebel -- he wandered alone"
Good call on The Electric Company -- I used to watch it when my kids were little. Favorite Character -- Fargo North --Decoder
True story -- The woman from the show that used to holler "Hey You Guys" said that she was in the stall at an airport. A little kid came crawling in, and pointed at her and said "Hey You Guys" so she whispered "Hey You guys"
He said "louder" so she says it a little louder, and she said it a little louder. He still says louder, so she shouts "HEY YOU GUYS!" . The kids mother says "Johnny!" -- and stalks out. Our star was apparently quite embarassed.
If you like the Knight Rider theme, you should check out "March and Procession of Bacchus" in the ballet "Sylvia", written in 1876 by Léo Delibes.
Ppl would be surprised if they knew how many theme songs and melodies are derived from classical music. The chase scenes from B-Westerns of the 1930's-1950's all used themes lifted straight from classical scores.
The theme from the TV show Alfred Hitchcock Presents is: Funeral March of a Marionette by Charles Gounod.
