It looks to me like alot of $$$ for the "potential" benefits. I see that it reduces the bounce of the tow vehicle a little but there is too many variables to know for sure. The increased fuel mileage.... You may see it over 10K miles but i doubt it would ever make up for the cost of the hitch. I can't imagine that the jerking the trailer does will wear out your transmission much faster with or without this. For 800-900$ I would rather put that cash into another transmission.
I'd see it as being helpful to protect the TRAILER, but the truck? Nah. If I had lab equipment, or expensive horses and too much money, I'd consider it, but not to protect the truck's transmission or the like. That's a LOT of money!
Increased gas mileage?? Invest in a Tornado ...or one of the eBay chips being discussed in other threads. Or a gas magnet ....all are much cheaper.
Or just send me $10.. and I'll send you my fact filled 3 page pamphlet on how to save gallons of gas every day - wether you drive or not!

We thought about manufacturing an air-ride hitch for travel trailers. We found that most of the shock is absorbed in the weight distribution system anyway. It also would add too much weight to our current anti-sway hitch (Hensley Arrow). You're better off focusing on eliminating the trailer sway. In 5th wheels, the air-suspension is much more beneficial because there is no weight distribution.
You can check out the Arrow, if you're interested, at www.HensleyMfg.com. It's expensive, but the only hitch that truly eliminates sway. If you don't go that route, just get a decent weight distribution system to absorb the shock.
I'd never seen one or heard/read about such a thing.
I saw a used one advertised on a local board (for about 1/2 price) and it peaked my curiosity. The manufacturer's site made some bold claims and was just fishing to see if anyone had first hand experience with one.
