Drivetrain noise help needed.
1990 2.9, 5 speed manual. 150,000 miles. Fluid recently changed in tranny.
No noise when accelerating or slowing down. A rumble when I let off on the gas but before I slow down, almost like a universal joint noise but they checked out ok.
As I come to a slow stop I have a little mechanical noise, not engine or brake related, until I stop.
Front wheel bearings checked and lubed. Rear wheel bearing condition unknown.
Has new clutch, new throwout bearing, brakes removed and checked out ok.
Tranny shifts ok but I seem to remember people talking about input bearing problems with these.... I have not checked that.....
So what do you think the noise might be?
