Re-gearing??

Probably dumb question, however when regearing do you switch both rear and front gears?

Yes, you have to switch both or they'll try to run different speeds resulting in MAJOR drive train damage, if you can even get it to move. 3.73 front=3.73 rear, etc.

Thats only if you put it in four wheel drive will it tear stuff up... In two wheel drive you transfer case is neutral between front and rear drives. I have installed gears in the rear of my superduty, but did not do the front until i was sure that the gear i put in was the one i wanted. I drove it with two different ratios until i was able to find more time to do the front(about a month). Nothing was hurt, i even put it in 4 wheel high in my muddy field and did some crazy donuts. (3.73 front and 4.56 rear w/ 38" tires and you reverse donut like crazy). But, if you ever plan on having to use your four wheel drive then you need matching gear ratio's or some people match ratio's by two different tire diameter's (ex: 3.73 w/ 33" in front and 4.33 w/ 37" in rear )
