I have been trying to figure this rough idle out since i bought the truck and still can not figure it out. I have replaced the o'rings on the IPR and cleaned the EBPV tube and no codes are present. The truck will idle rough in park and neutral and when coming to a stop when the motor has no load on it it will "Romp Romp Romp" at a very fast pace but will stop as soon as the motor has a load on it. Sometimes i can fell in jerking the truck when coming to a stop. I am also having a very rough idle in park and neutral after it warms up that will go away when i put it in gear. When i put it in gear it idles up to 850 or so but when in park or neutral in will sometimes idle around 700. I also noticed when im driving and the T.C. is locked up it is very sensative at low rpms. Any one have any thoughts on what could be wrong..
Both of these posts are in the correct area for your symptoms. Remember, the first thing to check is fresh proper oil. Then check for codes, then injector test, then you check for oil aeration. How long ago was the oring replacement on the IPR? Based on the post I would think it has been driven long enough to clear that out. Then we are looking squarely at the ICP. Don't forget about the IPR too.

Man... ICP, IPR, HPX, IPP, What the hell does all that mean !!!???? :/
I also have a 2000 PSD and it is doing the exact same thing. I've cleaned the EBP tube and all that jive.. Yesterday, I noticed that while I was standing beside it with the hood up, I could hear a tapping sound coming from the drivers side.. It honestly sounded like someone tapping the top of a beer can with a screw driver. I leaned in and couldnt tell if it was the power steering pump or left bank.. The truck lost power about 5 months ago... I'm at a loss and damn near ready to take it to the STEELERSHIP for one of those $300.00 dollar tests that wont reveal a damn thing.
The ICP is on top of the drivers side head toward the front. I waited for my truck to start idling rough then unplugged it and it idled perfect and then drove it and it didnt have much power but it cured all of my problems except the one that the stearlership caused this morning....195.00 for the IPC....
hmmm.. I've unplugged that connector before and it THEN started running like hell.. and made no improvement.. I wonder how I would know if it's bad too??
$195.00 for the ICP ?? Thats crazy !! Autozone didnt have it?
