WooooooooooHoooooooooooo

Is all I could say after FINALLY driving my truck today.....heh heh heh heh.....I know Chris n Ryan both wanted to hear the verdict.....all I can say is WOW...the 1.7's were well worth the money as well as porting the exhaust ports...and the GT40's...I've GOT to make a 0-60 vid for it....talk about head slamming power.I still gota minor issue though....and I'd like to reiterate for anyone who didn't read it in another thread.....I put a superstat in my truck and didn't pay attention to how it went in...put in in one way and she got hot....so I pull it out and flipped it around...she still gets hot..new antifreeze and plenty of it....new water pump (within a few months)any other ideas?I've also got new upper and lower radiator hoses.I would just pull it to see if that solves the problem but I'm afraid of my heat not working either as well or at all...Thanks guys.Later.

Perhaps an Air Bubble

Maybe there is an air bubble in the coolant system somewhere?

Damn Junior I'm freakin' jealous. So you're running the stock cam with those rockers? How hard were they to install? I assume most of the top end has to come out to get to them (or at least the passenger side). I don't know if I'm ready to pay for/install new heads but the rockers seem doable. You think I'd see good gains with just a new set of rockers? What other work entails? New valve springs, pushrods, anything?

Sucks about the heat problems. Mind explaining what a superstat is? I assume this is some kind of aftermarket thermostat? Why would that cause your engine to heat up faster? I could understand if it made it hard for the engine to COOL if it wasn't opening when it should but, as long as your engine is under the temp for the tstat to open (almost all the time in weather like this) then it shouldn't make any difference. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your problem.

It's possible with the air bubble Grim...I had the entire engine apart and shoved a hose into a coolant passage to flush it out the redneck way....You oughta be Chris.....watch this and you'll be really jealous.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0Pmd7u1LNc all I gotta say is my hands are still shaking...wish i did a vid of the burnout earlier.....it was sweet.....A superstat is an aftermarket T-stat that holds itself open if it were to fail that way you don't burn up the engine...think I'll go back to a regualr t-stat anyways...I ain't likin this crap......I wanna confirm this....the spring faces INTO the block right?Later and enjoy the vid.

I thought that recalled on my brothers PSD that when we swapped his tstate to the new waterpump, the spring was on the WATER PUMP side of the housing... Don't quote me on that.

On my brothers truck the tstate housing was a separate piece that bolted onto the side of the water pump housing. So the tstat was like parallel with the engine block... The best way I can put it is that the spring was on the WATERPUMP side of the tstat housing (I think!!)

Looks like fun, I wonder how a set of AFRs will compare.. should be wicked.

The main reason I love my M5OD so much is that my 1-2 shift is a more pronounced barking scream from the tires.. <BARK tires the from scream>it's attractive. Lol

I love the endless pulling in your vid, How fast were you going when the vid stops? I can't tell.

Of course it sounds good.. it's a 302 . I think you're gonna need a shift kit to get the bark.

Keep dreaming! That vid starts at 25mph and ends at around 73. Not to mention it doesn't keep track of milliseconds, so for all we know that vid could be 9.99 seconds and still register as only 9 seconds Nice try Junior
