Hey I was wondering how to get more power from my 302 fuel injected engine. I am almost 16 and anything cheap to get me more power would be good. I've already got dual exhaust on it any tips would be great thanks
i'm not sure what the gear ratio is in it and right now it has 245 s for tires and over the winter its is being changed to 4x4 and will have 31x10x50 with 15 inch rims
hillbilly_racing <<<<< i thought the name would mean you know what to do, SHOVE A 460 IN ER, and HOLD IT TO THE FLOOR "if you have rusty floorpans, like me, hold it to the bottom of the dirt"

Hope this helps..... Taylor
I'd have to agree about the 460 part.
My F-250 has so much ungodly torque I barely have to touch the throttle to get her to go. If I give it too much gas from a stopped position (even grinding the clutch) she LOVES to spin the tires.
Of course, the 8-10 mpg kinda sucks, but then again having a $500 truck that has that much power kinda makes up for it. (plus having no car payments and cheap insurance helps...)
You are not going to be able to do much with the 302. If you are going to drive it everyday, then leave it as is, since it will get fairly decent gas mileage. The reason I was asking about the gears is if you change them to a higher number, especially after putting bigger tires on it, it will give you more pep.
just do simple upgrades to keep the fuel economy up, and reliability the same. for example; hedders, intake manifold, carb. just let it breath easier make sure your plugs and wires are good, etc. Thats what I would do for now, if youre using it as a daily driver, you can always upgrade over time. a 4x4 conversion is kind of expensive. You doing that yourself?
i've got a free 4x4 parts truck to do it and i'm into mechanics and stuff like that pretty good and my two neighbors are total gear heads who will be helping me do it so hopefully it all goes good
