Until a few days ago, the windshield washer pump worked correctly. Now is doesn't, and I have no power going to the pump motor. When power is applied directly to the pump, it runs fine. I tried checking the plug to the pump, using a meter. When my assistant depressed the switch, I got no power. When I checked for continuity to ground, I get continuity when the switch is depressed, and loose it when it is released. I'm not sure what that indicates. Wipers work fine. Checked all my fuses, and they all appear to be good.
Which fuse supplies the washer pump? Is there a fusible link in the circuit anywhere? Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this one? Does continuity to ground indicate the switch is bad? Thanks Frank
Thanks for the help guys.
Might be this weekend before I can get back on this problem. Sounds like I need to pull the switch out far enough to have a look at it. I can test if the black wire is getting power when the switch is depressed, and try applying power to the black wire going to the washer pump. If it runs then the switch is definitely bad.
Thanks Frank
