Removing Grille

I am trying to take my factory grille off. I have the 4 screws taken off from on top, what is the trick to the clips on the bottom? Thanks!

A screw driver or flat blade scraper......you can either push up on them to release them from the header panel, or try and push them off the grille.

I normally just push up on them while I gently am pulling out the grille.

Push up on them from below the grille, above the bumper? Basically prying against the bumper? Or reach through the grille and try and pry the clips up while pulling out? Thanks!

Yep, from in between the grille and bumper, prying on the bumper. I normally put a towel on the bumper to keep from scratching it.

Best I have seen is long screwdriver and press down on clips from inside grill and pull out on grill as clips release

As best as I can tell, the 05 to 07 lower clips on the front grille are not accessible between the bottom of the grille and top of bumper like the 99 to 04 lower clips. I removed my grille last weekend by removing the rubber piece that covers the space between the top radiator support and back of the grille (this piece has the belt routing placard). This provides extra space for access to the lower grille clips. I then took off the top screws holding the top of the grille. Then I pulled the top of the grille slightly out. Next, I used a long flat blade screw driver and pushed down on each clip to disengage the clip from the retainer. As you look down at the clip from the top of the grille, you'll see a thin leg of the clip facing up at you pressed against the forward face of frame support. Push down on this leg and it will pop right out. Repeat this for all five clips. Just make sure you put some sort of protection on the top of the bumper to prevent marring or scratching the paint on your top bumper.
