is the Stancor Heavy Duty 586-902 a direct replacement or does it require some 'alterations' to make it work?? and are there any other suggestions for a gpr if the stancor is not a direct replacement?? I found a Sorensen gpr @ autozone but was not sure of the quality vs the stancor

Stancor is not a direct replacement , but worth the effort...
looks like a pretty straight forward install even though guzzle's rig is an 02 truck, so I went ahead and ordered the Stancor gpr and hope to have it in a few days, until then I will keep her plugged up!!
WOW!! I ordered the gpr sunday night and it is on my door-step today!! and it dropped in without any mods at all, that is one nice lookimg unit for sure. but does it mattter which wires go where?? based on the orientation of my stock vs. the stancor, I turned the posts toward the center of the motor and proceeded as follows: little red wire on top post, little red wire with the white stripe on the boot is on the bottom post, the big red wire is on the front post, and the yellow and brown wires are on the the rear post. sound right?? it seems to work right, the truck started and ran fine, but I couldn't hear the relay engage, is that normal with the stancor gpr??
