Does anyone know of the best way to remove the Lariat pinstripes, label and FX4 decal? I have heard to heat it up with a blow dryer and slowly pull - but does this leave a sticky residue? Is there some sort of "paint friendly" solvent/solution that will remove the adhesive without harming the paint?
Appreciate any assistance....
I did it with just my fingers on my 2001 Lariat SD. I picked at one corner with my finger nail and then just pulled the decals off slowly. There was no stickey residue on mine.
Great, so it sounds like it is just a matter of getting one of the edges up and then pulling slowly? How old is your truck? Was there any noticeable difference (lines in the paint)?
Thanks for your response.
I have a 2001 4x4 that I took the stickers off with the heat gun method. Came off pretty easy. I couldn't see/feel any residue but there must have been some because when it rained you could see where the stickers were. A couple of washings/waxings took care of it. I had waited about a month after getting my truck to do this.
Yep, just get your fingernail underneath one corner and it comes off easily. Wash, wax, repeat! Done. I took off the pinstriping on my Lariat Screw. I had the truck for 7 months before I took the pinstriping off and there is no evident difference in the paint coloration (my truck is black).
