I have a 58 F-100 with a styleside bed, anyone know how to remove the taillight panels?

Why do you want to remove them?
I imagine it could be done with a good spotweld drill and alot of patience.
I've seen replacement taillight panels before so there must be some way they come off.

They are not designed to be removed, that is they are welded in place. I think there is a picture in the assembly book that shows how they went together originally. I will check it after Church this morning and post a pic if one is in there.

Thanks Walston!

I was afraid of that...the lower parts pf the tail light panels are rusted and have had a lil "feild repair" this truck has earned it's keep in the family since 1960 and now I want to shine her up again.

Thanks My58Ford

There is a lot of Bondo as well as some creative use of leather (Pops was a blacksmith) so this is gonna be interesting.

If the rust is at the very bottom like I've seen before, then maybe you could cut that section off and graft from a doner, or just look for a decent bed and swap it.
Good beds are getting hard to find, but they are still out there.
Good luck on the project!
