Smoke Screen
I've been feverishly working on a 1980 F250 4x4 with the 300 I-6.
The truck was under water and I got it all cleaned up and drained all the fluids. I charged up the battery and it fired right up and sat and idled.
Boy do I love that motor.
My problem is that once the engine sits idling for approximately for 5 minutes it starts smoking uncontrolably and it is like I set off a military smoke bomb.
I have no idea what is wrong and was hoping for some information? I thought it might be the rings. How hard are they to replace and how much will it cost? It is just a beater, a really cool beater!
If I can't get it fixed, is anyone interested in purchasing an
'80 F250 for parts? I will sell it cheap!
