sum1 pleaze answer to my posts......

i have previouisly posted 3 questions regarding the same basic topics and only 2 people have answered me so im hoping sum1 will answer me

i have a 93 f-150 300 i6 and want to add the following mod

1) flowmaster series 50 suv performance muffler with 2.5" inlet, 2.25" dual oulet with dummy duals and a header in the future (has ne1 tryed this combo and if so how did it sound or how do u think it will sound)

2)k and n fipk

3)msd 6 ignition (can some1 plz tell me wut all i need on this mod)

4) egr resticor plate (again some1 plz tell me how to do this and will i notice a difference)

5) blue racer 270 cam (maybe)

with these mods i hope to gain about 30hp and 50lb-ft torque but will these mods raise the rpm level at which the power will come in at becuz i luv the low-end torque of this engine...also is there ne other relative cheap mods i can make with out sacrificing bottem torque

thanx to ne1 who posts a reply

"if its 2 loud, then ur 2 old"

flowmaster 40 series muffler has a great mellow sound, but isn't very loud. It'll sound nice inside your cab, not too loud or annoying, but it isn't loud outside, haven't tried headers... yet!

K&N- the FIPK is really expensive ($170), so I went to a local performance shop and bought 2 off-brand cone filters with a 3 inch mouth, same thing-different name. I installed them in place of my factory airbox, your truck will be a little louder, and I've noticed more power in 5th gear since I changed the intake, but I think that it needs the exhaust to help with the increase.

Hope this helps!

as for the EGR plate...
if you are not concerned with emissions, just block the egr off completly. I did this to mine and I am happy with it. I loosened the egr valve and took a thin piece of sheet metal from a door-jam and put gasket sealant on it and slid it between my egr and intake. then tighten it back up and check for vacuume leaks.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-Apr-02 AT 01:23 AM (EST)]I think that the Flowmaster 40 sounds really good - and there seems to be more giddy up an' go at higher RPM's. Might be my imagination, though.

I made the restrictor plate yesterday. I bought a gasket from Schucks ($2.09), traced it out on a piece of sheet metal, and cut it with tin snips. The only hard part was getting the bottom bolt on the valve loose! But not that hard. Again, it seems like a little better throttle response, but it might all be in my head!

Oh yeah, you should probably call Crane to make sure that the camshaft will work with the EFI. Their website isn't too clear.

Good luck!

If you want to keep the low end torque, then don't get a 270 duration cam. Clifford makes a variety of cams. I'd get the 264. It will keep the same low end torque as your factory cam, and also provides higher lift so you will get more power, while keeping it at the low end.

Do a search for my name in the 87-96 forum and this forum for the last month or so, i have posted a few things that are VERY long on the MSD ignition and don't feel like re-typing everything. I can say that it is a very good thing to get for the money, makes the 6 run better and more power.

Primary rig is:
95' F-150 EB 300/6 5 spd with 4" Superlift, MSD, Ram Air, Gibson Exhaust, 32" BFG Muds
NEW PICS IN MY GALLERY!! :-)

Then theres:
88' F-250 Superduty 351 + c6
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 and a
3 spd column shifter. Top speed, 65mph, Go Baby Go!

The newest addition to the Ford family is a 99' Mustang GT 4.6L
